Nathan Patz Law Center
University of Maryland Baltimore

The five-story, 255,000 SF building provides all the functions of the law school program under one roof, including an 85,000 SF law library, numerous technology-rich classrooms and seminar rooms, student journal offices, faculty offices and student areas. The School of Law requested a signature building that would express the traditions of law and scholarship. The L-shaped building is centered on a landscaped courtyard that provides an oasis for study and relaxation on this urban campus. The building is a reflection of the student-centered commitment of the School and provides a sense of community through carefully planned spaces that encourage interaction of students, faculty and staff.
